Assistance with fees

As an approved service Cammeray Children’s Centre is eligible to get the Child Care Subsidy on your behalf to reduce your child care fees. Three things determine a family’s level of Child Care Subsidy:

  • A family’s annual adjusted taxable income determines the percentage of subsidy they are eligible for
  • An activity test determines how many hours of subsidised care families can access, up to a maximum of 100 per fortnight, and
  • The type of child care service determines the hourly rate cap (For long day care it is capped at $11.77 per hour).

Some basic requirements must be satisfied for an individual to be eligible to receive Child Care Subsidy for a child. These include: •the age of the child (must be 13 or under and not attending secondary school) •the child meeting immunisation requirements •the individual, or their partner, meeting the residency requirements.

The Additional Child Care Subsidy is a top up payment in addition to the Child Care Subsidy which will provide targeted additional fee assistance to families and children facing barriers in accessing affordable child care.

The Additional Child Care Subsidy has four elements:

Child Wellbeing

Grandparents

Temporary Financial Hardship

Transition to Work

These payments aim to give the most vulnerable children a strong start, while supporting parents into work. To see if your family is eligible, please go to humanservices.gov.au/childcaresubsidy
